The Producers è un musical puro e molto classico che – come unico, grande difetto - ha quello di essere troppo "teatrale".
Nato nel 1968 come film (intitolato in italiano Per favore, non toccate le vecchiette) nel duemila è diventato un musical di successo a Broadway, poi trasformato in un film prodotto dallo sceneggiatore e regista dell'originale Mel Brooks e diretto da Susan Stroman.

The Producers rappresenta un caso interessante nella storia del cinema.
